Originally the summer home of American Impressionist Julian Alden Weir from 1882 to 1919, Weir farm would go on to inspire future generations with its beauty and tranquility. This scenic stretch of farmland offered the perfect getaway for artists and naturalists alike looking to temporarily escape the fast pace of city living. Kronenberger and sons was contracted by the National Park Service to demolish, inspect, and replace the existing roof, siding, trim, and doors on the Burlingham Barn at the Weir Farm National Historic Site. To begin the project, however, Kronenberger had to work closely with the Parks Service in order to meet the quality standards set forth by the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI). A National Parks officer was present on site watching over all stages of the construction process. This project, completed on time and to full satisfactory requirements of the National Parks Service, is a testament to the level of our craftsmanship employed.
