The Bridgeport Police Mounted Unit resides in the South End of Bridgeport next to Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The Mounted Unit was revitalized in 1998 after being out of commission since 1918. The Mounted Unit was brought back in an effort to help improve the City’s image. The horses are mainly retired or donated while others are purchased with grant money. There are a set of requirements for the horses, for instance, each horse must be a minimum of 16 hands high, in good health, and be okay with the sounds of city life. Kronenberger & Sons was responsible for all the clay tile roof work, including rebuilding the chimneys and rebuilding the gable ends. We also replaced upper barn doors and performed various associated carpentry tasks as required.
