Brooklyn Unitarian Church

Built in 1771, the Brooklyn Unitarian Church is one of only a handful of pre-Revolutionary War church buildings in the state of Connecticut. Having a thoroughly documented history has enabled accurate and efficient restoration of this church. The current meeting house was built between 1771-74, before the town of Brooklyn was incorporated in 1786. The church is owned and maintained by the Unitarian Universalist Society in Brooklyn, CT. Kronenberger & Sons was responsible for repairing the steeple tower. This required us to remove the entire steeple structure via crane, perform repairs and restoration on the ground, and finally hoist it back into place. Repairs and restoration included structural restoration, carpentry work, and restoring the bell mechanism. Upon reinstallation, we were responsible for all reconnections, roofing, flashing, painting, and finishes.
